Our August livestream was broadcasted live from the Norwalk location of Alliance for Community Empowerment. It was only fitting that for this show we partnered with Lamond Daniels, LCSW, MPA, Chief of Community Services in Norwalk to hear about the work he’s been doing in the community to help everyone in Norwalk during these trying times.
Lamond works very close with the health department, the human relations and fair rent department, the library system, youth services, and human services of Norwalk. Also in attendance was Deanna D’Amore, Director of the Norwalk Health Department to chime in on the opportunities the city and state has as whole to get through the current health pandemic.
This livestream also included resources for finding a COVID-19 testing site, the introduction of our Human Resources Director Kimberly Farrar Powell, and supportive services information provided by Zeljka Trivunovic. Our new livestream comment feature was also debuted which allows us to post live comments on screen from any of our viewers. We hope to see you writing in the comments during our next show!
Tanya Lloyd, Director of Early Learning, announced that we’d be reopening infant toddler sites in September and providing remote learning for others. Our other ELD sites have been slowly reopening as we welcomed back returning families.
